Job Description

The Engineering Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the hotel's engineering department. This role ensures the smooth functioning of maintenance activities, manages documentation, coordinates with other departments, and assists in implementing preventive maintenance schedules to maintain the hotel's facilities to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the engineering department's records, logs, and reports.
  • Coordinate work orders and track their status to ensure timely resolution of maintenance requests.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, including procurement and stock control.
  • Prepare departmental correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities while minimizing guest disruptions.
  • Assist in planning and implementing preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards across engineering operations.
  • Monitor energy consumption and support sustainability initiatives as directed.
  • Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other hotel departments.
  • Schedule and coordinate vendor visits, equipment servicing, and repairs.
  • Handle guest inquiries or complaints related to maintenance and escalate unresolved issues to the Chief Engineer.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Monitor the maintenance management system to ensure accurate tracking of activities and budgets.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of administrative or technical support experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic technical understanding of hotel systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
