Job Description

The Finance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day financial operations within the hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the effective management of financial transactions. This role supports the Financial Controller in managing financial records, preparing reports, and providing financial analysis to optimize hotel performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and supervise daily accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with hotel policies and accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to provide insights for decision-making.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, accounting regulations, and hotel financial policies.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Supervise and train junior finance staff, ensuring adherence to procedures and best practices.
  • Provide guidance on financial procedures and resolve any accounting-related issues.
  • Monitor and manage the hotel’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds are available for daily operations.
  • Oversee cash handling processes and ensure that cash deposits are conducted in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with special projects, financial analysis, and system improvements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong experience with accounting software (e.g., Opera, SunSystems) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all departments.
  • Knowledge of local tax laws and compliance regulations.
