Job Description

 

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. The Barista will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and other beverages, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, and maintaining the café area to the highest standards. This role will involve a combination of customer service, beverage preparation, and operational duties to support the overall guest experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee-based drinks, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks to hotel guests and visitors.
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of coffee and beverages in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Manage the preparation of hot and cold beverages, as well as teas, smoothies, and other menu items as required.
  • Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking their orders and responding to any questions.
  • Offer recommendations on coffee blends, beverages, and other menu items based on customer preferences.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station and café area.
  • Ensure all equipment (coffee machines, grinders, etc.) is cleaned, maintained, and operating efficiently.
  • Replenish stock of supplies such as coffee beans, milk, and syrups, and assist in inventory management.
  • Process customer orders accurately and handle cash, credit, and digital payments.
  • Follow all cash handling and register procedures, ensuring accurate transactions and balance of the cash register.
  • Assist in managing the café’s daily opening and closing duties.
  • Work closely with other members of the Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new baristas or staff on café standards, coffee preparation, and customer service.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
  • Follow hotel guidelines for proper storage, handling, and disposal of food and beverages.

Desired Skill & Expertise

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; barista training or certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar food and beverage role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Experience with espresso machines, coffee brewing, and beverage preparation is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and a passion for coffee.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
