Job Description

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to ensure a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction throughout the hotel. This role involves leading the housekeeping team, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The Housekeeping Manager works closely with other departments to maintain an impeccable environment that reflects the hotel’s commitment to quality and guest service.

 

  • Supervise, train, and mentor the housekeeping staff, including supervisors, room attendants, and public area cleaners.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any performance issues.
  • Plan and conduct training sessions to ensure staff are equipped with proper cleaning techniques, guest interaction, and safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules for all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure a consistent high standard of cleanliness.
  • Conduct daily inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure standards are met and address any deficiencies.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, ensuring cost-effective stock levels.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping services, ensuring quick and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Ensure that guest preferences and special requirements are met in coordination with front office and other relevant departments.
  • Set and enforce cleanliness and maintenance standards to meet or exceed hotel brand and health standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to identify and address maintenance issues within guest rooms and public areas.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping staff adhere to safety guidelines and hotel policies.
  • Maintain compliance with sanitation, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Regularly review and update departmental policies and procedures to reflect industry standards.
  • Prepare and manage the housekeeping department budget, monitoring expenses, and identifying areas for cost-saving.
  • Generate regular reports on department performance, inventory usage, and guest satisfaction metrics.
  • Implement energy and cost-saving initiatives within housekeeping operations.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Housekeeping Manager or similar role in a luxury hotel.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and experience in maintaining quality control.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
