Job Description

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Sous Chef.
  • Ensure that all food items meet the kitchen’s quality standards in terms of appearance, taste, and texture.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Assist in managing stock and ingredients, ensuring proper storage and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff and departments to ensure a smooth flow of service.
  • Monitor and report on equipment malfunctions and assist in maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and experiment with new recipes or techniques to enhance the menu.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and apprentices as required.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience, with a strong focus on Western and Italian cuisine.
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on skills in food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • A diploma in culinary arts or relevant certifications/training is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid food safety certification is required.
  • HACCP certification is required.
