Job Description

The Accounting Manager at Silver Sands Beach is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles, financial regulations, and company policies. The role includes managing financial records, preparing financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, and advising management on financial decisions to support the growth and profitability of the organization.

 

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts and balance sheets.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage budgets, and forecast financial trends.
  • Collaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets and financial plans.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.
  • Provide financial projections and analyses to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure all financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns.
  • Develop strategies to optimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with tax laws.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and consultants as needed.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support for professional development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and ensure the team meets all deadlines and standards.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller, Resort Manager and other department heads to align financial goals with overall objectives.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and assess financial risks.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
